CPSC Data Shows Decline in Fireworks Related Injuries

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) held its annual press conference June 26 to urge safety when celebrating this July 4th. CPSC Chairman Elliott Kaye announced 2014 CPSC fireworks related injuries statistics, down from the previous year, and cautioned the public to avoid illegal explosives, professional grade pyrotechnics, and overloaded consumer products. 

According to the CPSC, there were an estimated 10,500 fireworks-related injuries in 2014, a drop of about 8% from injury levels reported in 2013.
