Cultivating Ties with Policymakers

APA cultivates ties with policymakers, sharing information about the fireworks industry. Just one more way the association works year-round to Preserve & Promote the American Tradition of celebrating with fireworks.  Here are just a few recent examples.

The APA organized a field trip for key officials of the Department of Transportation, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA) who traveled to Radford, Virginia to tour the manufacturing facility of APA member Fireworks by Grucci.

Members of the APA Display Committee met with officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF)  to identify current initiatives which are problematic for the industry and may  warrant consideration for regulatory reform. 

APA's Executive Director Julie Heckman and APA member Daniel Peart testified before the USTR's Section 301 Committee to reiterate the industry's request to remove Display and Consumer Fireworks from the tariff listing of affected commodities
