Congressman Ken Calvert recently introduced the Fireworks for Freedom Act (H.R. 8593), legislation aimed at helping communities hold fireworks displays in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The bill, which is supported by both APA and NFA, would waive certain environmental regulations that have been used to deny fireworks permits while preserving local authority.
